Phase II: Recovery Group Workbook Series - For Addicts
The Recovery Group Workbook Series consists of Workbooks 5 - 8. Please Note: Phase I (Workbooks 1 - 4) is a prerequisite before starting Phase II, as the workbooks in Phase II build upon the principles introduced in Phase I.
Workbook Five—Breaking Through Denial
Those struggling with sexual addictions often live in a state of denial, trying to convince themselves and everyone around them that there is no problem. Through a series of introspective exercises, Workbook Five brings you face-to-face with reality and helps you identify your feelings, emotions, and triggers, which are very important steps in the process of recovery and of breaking through denial. In Workbook Five, the beginning book of Phase II, you can expect a more hands-on approach than the workbooks in Phase I, which were basically educational in scope.
Workbook Six—Addiction
The more familiar you are with how the addiction cycle works, the more power you have to overcome it. Workbook Six examines the addiction cycle in detail and helps you gain an in-depth understanding of your own personal addiction cycle. You'll discover practical strategies to help you stop your addictive behaviors; and you'll begin learning how to create a healthy lifestyle for yourself by replacing your negative behaviors with healthier, more fulfilling ones.
Workbook Seven—Fantasies and Objectification
Workbook Seven tackles the subject of fantasies and objectification and teaches you how to break down your fantasies to discover the faulty beliefs and self-defeating messages that drive them. You'll also learn about the damaging effects of objectification and how you can let go of your tendency to objectify others. By identifying and confronting your faulty core beliefs and learning to reverse your negative thought patterns, you'll be able to take a realistic look at why you've used fantasies and objectification as a coping method in the past-and what you can do now to move forward.
Workbook Eight—Relapse Prevention and Healthy Living
In Workbook Eight we introduce you to two powerful self-monitoring tools that will help you analyze your behavior and keep yourself in check. The first is the Relapse Prevention Sheet, an assessment tool that allows you to take a detailed look at past relapses in order to help you avoid them in the future. The second tool is the STAR Gauge, an innovative method of monitoring your behaviors that will help you to remain focused on the things that keep you healthy, happy, and on top of your game.
