The Getting Started Workbook Series consists of Workbooks 1 - 4, plus three supplementary booklets:

Workbook One—Beginnings
The first in the series, Workbook One gives a basic foundation of the key points of compulsive sexual behavior, and will help you determine whether or not you have a problem. By following the outlined steps you'll get a clear picture of the role sex and lust have played in your life and you'll begin to see that even though you may have felt your situation was hopeless, there is a way out.

Workbook Two—Family of Origin
Your core belief system often originates from experiences and pivotal events in your family of origin. Without placing blame, Workbook Two will help you gain valuable insight into how your family system might have contributed to the development of some of the faulty core beliefs that drive your addiction.

Workbook Three—Understanding Shame
Many addicts do not realize how entrenched they are in feelings of shame and low self-worth. Understanding shame, recognizing its part in your life, and taking steps to heal from toxic shame are all essential to your recovery from addiction, and Workbook Three will be an invaluable tool for you throughout this process. The discussions and exercises in the workbook will help you recognize where your shame comes from and learn how you can finally break free from the cycle of shame.

Workbook Four—Boundaries
The final workbook in the Getting Started phase, Workbook Four provides a look at internal and external boundary development. You'll learn how to recognize when you're living with unhealthy boundaries and discover healthier, more effective ways to interact with others. By establishing healthy boundaries, you can take charge of your life and gain a sense of empowerment that is liberating.

The First Step—Taking the First Step Toward Recovery
The First Step booklet is for those who are just coming to the realization that they may be suffering from some degree of compulsive sexual behavior and don't know where to turn for help. While this booklet is not the cure and is not a substitute for therapy, it offers a simple three-step plan to help the addict get started on the path toward recovery.

The Toolbox—A Ready-Reference Guide for Recovery
The Toolbox is a handy booklet that the addict can access for immediate reinforcement at any point in recovery. It provides deterrents to help the addict stop his or her acting-out behaviors while working through the underlying issues in the workbook series. By using the tools in the Toolbox, the addict can find immediate successes to bolster self-confidence and help track progress on the path to recovery.

Surviving Withdrawal-Laying the Groundwork for a Lasting Recovery

When faced with the painful and confusing symptoms of withdrawal (which are frequently unexpected), many addicts experience setbacks in their recovery. Surviving Withdrawal educates the reader as to what can be expected during withdrawal from compulsive sexual behaviors and offers tactics that will help the recovering addict push through these setbacks and move forward, replacing destructive acting-out behaviors with a healthier new lifestyle.
